v2
the v2 is the tama after the one that started the tamagotchi connection phase. there is now a gotchi points feature. by playing the games you get gotchi points ( witch I will now call gotchi) and go to the new shop feature were you can spend your gotchi on foods and Items. Items are things that your tama can use and do little animations which are very cute some you can only use when you reach adult stage others you can use any time. as usual you can connect it with the v1 and v2 as well as all connection versions (not v5 v5.5 v6) I liked the simplicity of this one and I often run it wen I don't know what to run next I find it a good pet
v3
the v3 is a pet that can link to tama town!! (computer). this is a good one! anyway its rather similar to the v2 with some rather large tweaks. there is now a new set of 52 characters and 6 games. this one borrows some characters from the osutchi ONLY and a few from the gen1. like the v2 it has gotchi and the shop. on tamatown you can play more games in some places,buy stuff at the mall and food court, and get codes to get souvenirs. they don't do anything but are fun to collect. you can also buy tickets and travel to different places. go to tama town and get a rare souvenir. this is one of my favorites and found it very fun it is a good friend to have on trips.
v4
this is a pet that can go on tamatown!!! the v4 was made in 2007 and started the slogan "live'n the tamagotchi life" the v4 had many v3 characters like obochi this one gets characters from both osutchi and mesutchi! there is also a new tama town where you can get gotchi points (and lots of them) get codes and you can go to almost any building in the town!!!! you can also go to different towns like "guruguru town" or patchi forrest " and "mame city" most of the major characters have towns like violetchi inchigotchi and gosarutchi. you can now get mail like a letter from the king the robber or just a poop or star there is also fortune teller mail and ummm this [!] this is major school and life events.and job offers. on this tama the characters are determined on skill points you get from going to school.
v4.5
this is one of my faves! it is basically the v4 but it has really cute characters new skill points and new jobs!!! this pet could also go on tama town but you would log it on to v4 tama town. almost all of the characters are pastel colors and some are ura characters. normal v4 characters with an aded like wings or a tale horns or difrent colors. this tama is not so skill driven as in it go's by how good you take care of them.
v5 / v5.5
this tama I have but I can't find. the v5 was really big among tama fans they could now rase a tama family! but most were very disappointed as you could only play with one character. I remember being so exited about it I bought it on ebay 3 months before it was said to come out! I played with it and loved its new characters on my first try I got chametchi. who later evolved into lovezutchi. maybe 3 months later they made the v5 celebrity or in japan royal familichi but was called by tama collectors the v5.5 seeing them at target I bought one that was purple with photos on it. this one I lost and then found. the v5.5 had new characters and games and introduced kicitchi a monkey that would be very popular in japan. unlike most I loved this one! because it was rather easy to get.
v6 pop star
this one was a good idea but not very well done. this tama featured a new tama town.
most say that this is the best tama town but I like v4 tama town better. v6 tama town or music city. this new tamatown is similar to club penguin. basically you can walk around chat with people buy stuff and personalize your room. you can also log on your v6 and you can walk around as the current tamagotchi on your v6. the buttons are hard to push. its really jam packed with features so I'll tell you your basic goal. you must reach number one on the pop star list.

tamago
the tamago is probably the most hyped about tamagotchi, as it was first introduced at the new York toy fair 2009. instead of the tamagotchi+color America got the tamago. the first thing that stunned tamagotchi collectors was the size of the tamago! it was the thickness of 3 v2's! why the size increase? well to support the figures of corse! bandai made a collectable line of figures that came full of games shops and a faceplate to put on the front of the tamago. also bandai sent tamagos to important tama websites! so sneak peaks all over the place! the tamago first appeared on amazon and was sold out within an hour. for short period of time tamagos were on and off of major websites for along time. so only a few could get there hands on one. i happen to be one of those few! i have only had mine for maybe 3 days but i love it so far!
tamago figures wave 1
along with the release of the tamago came the 6 add on figures. the idea behind the figures was to enhance the experience of the tamago. costing 7.99 appease they added 2 games and a shop or more food options. the first time the tamago was sighted on amazon the figures were not there with them the first time they were available was on toys r us.com for a very short period of time. their have been roomers as the second wave would be coming soon. the list of the figures in the first wave: memetchi mametchi chamametchi ringotchi kutchipatchi violetchi a total of 6 all of witch I own ;)
